Zinfandel produces bold, brambly reds bursting with jammy berry fruit, sweet spice, and high alcohol, especially from old-vine sites in Sonoma and Lodi. Genetically identical to Italy's Primitivo, it swings from rich reds to the off-dry pink 'White Zinfandel'.
